News: Rotherham engineers go wild for charity fun run
A team of energetic engineers are donning their hard hats and going wild for charity, as they prepare to take part in the SIG Insulation's 3k fun run later this month. "Team Murphy", from the Rotherham-based construction and engineering company, J. Murphy & Sons Ltd, are taking part in the event in aid of the Sheffield Wildlife Trust, after recently completing a string of successful conservation projects in the area. Sally Lack, organiser of "Team Murphy", said: "All of the runners in the group are getting ultra competitive. Some have embarked on a training regime and diet plan that involves running before and after work, cutting out biscuits in the office and eating lots of fruit." Nicola Moore from Sheffield Wildlife Trust, said: "It is fantastic that Murphy have been so supportive by getting their staff running for us. In this economic climate it is really important for charities and businesses to support each other and we are hoping to build on this good relationship for the future." Staff at Murphy, have previously worked with local schools on activities such as creating a bird garden, planting trees and shrubs and building a fence around a wildlife pond. The fun run takes place on April 26, alongside the Sheffield Half Marathon at Don Valley Stadium.
