News: Rotherham Enterprise ready to offer business support
A new project is set to help Rotherham people who are looking to set up or currently run their own business.
Rotherham Enterprise, has been set up by partners in the borough to give a helping hand.
RiDO, Rotherham Investment and Development Office, are providing business coaches to support people into self employment with RYE, Rotherham Youth Enterprise, supporting young people into self employment.
VAR, Voluntary Action Rotherham will support people into social enterprises and Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber will support existing businesses.
Geoff Link, from Rotherham Enterprise said: "We want to develop and foster an enterprising culture across our local communities by promoting self-employment and enterprising opportunities for individuals and businesses.
"The project, funded by European Regional Development Fund, will employ teams of business coaches and business support officers to work closely with communities and with individuals who want to start or already run their own business.
"There are many opportunities for people to become self employed and in the current economic climate it is extremely important for people to know that free and confidential help is available."
Rotherham Enterprise help people to look for business opportunities, help them grow in confidence, and then develop the necessary business skills needed to start and run a business.
