News: The business of winning

By

Rotherham businesses are being given the opportunity to learn how to get involved in the major projects connected to the London Olympics in 2012.

The Yorkshire Gold Business Club is hosting a conference and exhibition with the keynote speaker being Paul Deighton, the chief executive of LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games).

Speakers will include representatives from YGBC and Yorkshire Forward explaining how they will support businesses to identify what opportunities are available and take an active role in giving Yorkshire organisations the very best chance to win the work, either alone or as part of a collaboration.

Practical advice will be offered about how to gain a real advantage and on winning work on major projects such as the £16bn Cross Rail, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, The Commonwealth Games, Leeds Bradford Airport, Heathrow Terminal 6 & 3rd runway expansion and Transport for London upgrades.

The event takes place at the Mercure St Pauls Hotel in Sheffield on August 20 at 11:00am-2.00 pm.

The Yorkshire Gold Business Club is delivered by VEN Management Ltd.
