News: IT Desk UK is Rotherham's best established enterprise

IT Desk UK has been named as the Best Established Business in the Rotherham Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.


The Manvers firm provide IT services to small and medium sized businesses enabling them to save money when compared to having an in-house IT department or manager.

Chris Wright said he was seeing "swings and roundabouts" in the current economic climate.

While the hardware side of his business has experienced a downturn due to companies being unwilling to spend large sums on new computer equipment, the upgrade support arm of IT Desk has benefited from a 20 per cent rise due to customers seeking to get the most of their existing equipment in order to cut down on costs.

IT Desk UK has previously won the Best Business using IT category in the 2007 awards.

The overall winner of the Rotherham Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, sponsored by UK Steel Enterprise, will be announced at the Rotherham Chamber Awards dinner on October 23.
