By

Rotherham security specialists, Assured Fire & Security has recently completed a prestigious order for the Royal Navy.

The Dinnington-based company installed and commissioned a hard-wired and radio fire alarm system for the Royal Navy at HMS Victory, Nelson's celebrated flagship, and its associated stores on base in Portsmouth.

Best known for her role in the Battle of Trafalgar, the Victory currently has a dual role as the flagship of the Commander-in-Chief Naval Home Command and as a living museum to the Georgian navy.

The project was such a great success that Assured were recently brought back in again for extensive upgrading work on the whole base, including a new fire alarm system worth several thousand pounds.

Assured's clients already include the HM Prison Service, MENCAP, English Heritage, The National Trust, local authorities, blue chip companies, schools, high street stores & other commercial, public sector & industrial customers.

Assured managing director Simon Stokes said: "We were very proud to have been commissioned to work on something as historically important as HMS Victory.

"To be invited back, though, was equally important and we are delighted to be able to strengthen our links with the Royal Navy in this way."
