News: Garnett Dickinson are excellent in manufacturing
Garnett Dickinson Print has been rewarded in the Excellence In Manufacturing Award (sponsored by Made In Sheffield) at the Rotherham Business Awards 2009.
The Manvers company specialises in the printing of short to medium run magazines, catalogues and brochures for publishing companies, tour operators, mail order houses and a wide range of other companies throughout the UK and Ireland including Haymarket, McLaren Marketing and the BBC.
Garnett Dickinson Print gained national recognition for lean manufacturing when they were highly commended at the BPIF Print Week Excellence Awards 2009.
Andrew Barker, Divisional Director at Garnett Dickinson Print, said: "We are all absolutely delighted with gaining this award. Garnett Dickinson's lean manufacturing journey started in 2006 with planning and productivity improvements generated by the move to our new factory and new equipment, continuing in 2007 and being formalised in a lean manufacturing programme early in 2008. 
"Our dedicated lean team has worked tirelessly to bring about the significant improvements in the business and will continue to make additional improvements as we further refine everything we do."
Systems Integration & Automation Ltd and Very PC Ltd were highly commended on the night.
