News: Bramall secures £7m contract
Rotherham-based housing specilaist, Bramall Construction has secured a £7m contract to build new homes for older people and replace a residential care facility in North Yorkshire.
Bramall Construction has been appointed by Hanover Housing to develop the site of The Beeches Care Home in Leeds Road, Tadcaster, turning the 33-bed facility into 50 new modern, accessible apartments.
Paula Broadbent, business development officer from Bramall Construction said: "We're delighted to be delivering this exciting and important housing project for Tadcaster and its residents.
"We have been committed to this project since the start, working with partners on the design and discussions with planners. But now the hard work really begins as we look to deliver this development in a short space of time, with the minimum disturbance to existing residents."
The news continues a two-year partnership between Bramall, Hanover and North Yorkshire County Council, who have worked together to develop proposals, secure funding and gain planning permission for the scheme.
Teresa Snaith, Head of Extra Care Development for Hanover, said: "When complete, this development will offer a new choice in retirement housing that provides flexibility, independence and personal choice for older people within the community.
"We are really grateful to Bramall for the support they have contributed to this project to date."
The new building is due to complete by March 2011.
