News: Dormer Tools cutting-edge training

Sales staff at a leading engineering supply company have been improving their product knowledge thanks to a helping hand from Dormer Tools in Rotherham.

MSC/J&L Industrial Supply, based in Wednesbury, West Midlands, is the UK's leading distributor of engineering cutting tools.

A team of 45 internal and external sales staff from the company attended three training sessions at Dormer Tools' state-of-the-art centre at the Advanced Manufacturing Park.

The staff all successfully completed the "Introduction to Cutting Tools" course and the company is already planning future level two training sessions for selected members of staff.

Denise Clark, training manager at MSC J&L said: "We have always had a great relationship with Dormer and they have held various training sessions in-house at our facility.

"It was a good opportunity to take our pro-active sales associates to Dormer's facility and begin our three stage training program."

John O'Donoghue, general manager of Dormer Tools, said: "It's great to see such a prestigious supply company coming forward and taking advantage of our training opportunities in order to improve its customer service.

Since opening its research and training facility at the AMP in 2009, Dormer has already attracted more than 200 visitors to the centre from countries including Dubai, Jordan, Pakistan and Australia and from blue chip organisations such as Rolls Royce and BAE.
