News: Town centre retailer expands again

Dawn Ordish launched six years ago on a stall in Rotherham's Indoor Market. She very quickly realised that to provide the full extent of services that her customers wanted, she needed larger premises so was soon on the move to a dedicated shop on Eastwood Lane.
By building up her customer base, Dawn's business has yet again outgrown its Eastwood Lane home meaning another recent move to bigger and better premises close by in the Markets Complex.
Dawn said: "I'm thrilled things are going so well and I’ve yet again moved to bigger and better premises where I can offer a wider range of services. I wanted to stay in the Markets complex as that's where I started and where my loyal customers have been coming for years."
Market's Manager Robin Lambert said: "It's always nice to see one of our traders doing well – especially when they expand from a stall into their own shop unit. It's even better that in the space of six years, Dawn has managed to do this twice. We're glad Dawn's chosen to remain within the Markets Complex and we hope that it's due in part to the high levels of footfall through the market and the support that my team offers to traders."
Director of Planning and Regeneration Paul Woodcock said: "Dawn's expanding business proves Rotherham Market is an ideal starting place for budding entrepreneurs. We want to focus on encouraging this by working with our Business Coaches to identify potential businesses that may benefit from using the Market as a test trading ground for their products before committing to a retail unit and lease agreement."
