News: Powerstar wins Metropolitan Police contract

By

EMS (UK) Ltd, the Rotherham-based energy consultancy, has secured a contract from the Metropolitan Police to install 20 Powerstar voltage optimisation systems in a further 13 police stations.

12 Powerstar systems are already in use at ten Metropolitan Police stations achieving an average saving of 10% in electricity costs across the stations.

Following the signing of this contract EMS (UK) Ltd will be installing Powerstar systems at the additional 13 police stations commencing in August.

As a publicly funded organisation the Metropolitan Police is under extra pressure in the current economic climate to operate as efficiently as possible. The Powerstar system is the only voltage optimisation system wholly designed and manufactured in the UK and works by reducing the the voltage supplied by the National Grid.

Since the beginning of July, organisations such as the University of Bristol have chosen Powerstar for 22 systems, and the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills in London has selected Powerstar to meet their voltage optimisation needs with seven systems.
