News: JELD-WEN donates pergola to Bluebell Wood Hospice

Manufactured at their newly extended Rotherham factory, on the Sheffield border at Woodhouse Mill, the donation was part of the company's 50th anniversary celebrations where every JELD-WEN site will see staff giving at least 50 hours of their time to a local charitable organisation.
Sheffield-based Arnold Laver and JELD-WEN jointly supplied the timber and JELD-WEN staff designed and built the extensive pergola, which spans a 10m x 3m area, as well as applying a preservative stain to ensure it complements the garden. Northern Construction Services of Barnsley volunteered their time free of charge to set the Pergola within the grounds of the hospice at North Anston and landscape it to a high quality standard. In addition, the Doncaster branch of B&Q donated climbing plants to decorate the interior of the Pergola.
Mike Ward, managing director of JELD-WEN, said: "The decision to work with Bluebell Wood was easy. They have had a long association with our company since they were first established and we gave them space in our offices over 10 years ago.
"It is fantastic to see how the organisation has grown and the tremendous work they do with young people.
"We are proud to be involved in this project and hope the children enjoy spending more time outdoors in the Pergola during the warmer weather."
Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice provides care and support to families who have a child who has a life limiting condition and is not expected to live into adulthood.
