News: Administrators stress business as usual at Connaught Compliance in Rotherham

By

As the social housing group, Connaught plc entered administration, it was business as usual at subsidiary, Connaught Compliance, which operates a site in Rotherham.

Following the announcement regarding the suspension of the company's shares, KPMG were announced as administrators of Connaught plc and its subsidiary, Connaught Partnerships Limited, which comprises its Social Housing Division.

The group's other main subsidiaries, Connaught Compliance Limited, National Britannia Holdings Limited, Fountains Limited and Connaught Environmental Limited (and their respective subsidiaries), which comprise the Group's Compliance and Environmental divisions, are not being placed into administration and will continue to trade normally.

Richard Heis, restructuring partner at KPMG and joint administrator, said: "The Connaught Compliance and Connaught Environmental businesses are unaffected by the appointment and continue to trade normally under the control of their directors and with the support of their lenders. Any queries should be directed to your normal contacts within those businesses."

KPMG also stated that the group has to date received numerous expressions of interest for both the Compliance and Environmental divisions.

In 2008, Connaught acquired the Lowe Group (Holdings) Ltd, based in Rotherham and trading as Necta Ltd, for around £7.5m. It was later renamed Connaught Compliance Electrical Services. They employ over 230 people including engineers, site inspectors and tutors.

Connaught Compliance is a national integrated services provider with locations across the UK. It specialises in providing compliance services in gas, electrical, water, fire, energy efficiency, and health and safety.
