News: Carbon capture and storage supply chain

By

The Special Metals Fourm and NAMTEC (National Metals Technology Centre) in Rotherham are hosting an event in February focusing on the business opportunities in the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) sector.

CCS offers a significant opportunity for innovation and growth in the supply chain. The widespread deployment of CCS will be essential to sustain the UK's energy supply from fossil fuels whilst satisfying demand and meeting emissions targets over the next decade.

This event aims to inform and engage the UK's manufacturing industry in the emerging field of CCS. The event will include presentations from those in authority able to speak on the Government's plans for CCS, alongside presentations from industry leaders and power plant operators showcasing the latest in technology.

Delegates will learn about the potential opportunities for UK manufacturers including the supply of corrosion resistant materials, advanced manufacturing processes and increased capacity for off-the-shelf products.

There will also be an opportunity to exhibit at this event that takes place at the AMP Technology Centre on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham on February 4.
