News: Multitask Personnel Ltd tackles Rotherham's job market

A Rotherham recruitment consultant has established her own business with the help of the Rotherham Enterprise project.

Multitask Personnel Ltd operates from RiDO's Moorgate Crofts business centre and aims to support local job seekers and local companies by placing the right candidate not just for the job, but for the company and the team in which they will work.

Claire Thickett, managing director at Multitask Personnel, said: "After ten years in the business, initially with few qualifications, I'm proof that hard work can carry you a long way. It gives me great satisfaction to help those looking for employment to find the perfect job for them.

"Although there aren't many jobs at the moment and businesses aren't looking to recruit as often, setting up my own business with help from the Rotherham Youth Enterprise Project has been the best decision of my life."

The Rotherham Enterprise Project, which is part financed by The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), offered Claire essential advice on how to grow the business and six months subsidised work space at Moorgate Croft Business Centre.

Claire added: "Having professional workspace is crucial to my industry which requires constant interviews so the low cost workspace was fantastic and has saved me thousands, enabling me to recruit two new members of staff with valuable experience in the sector."

"I'm happier than I've ever been and the Rotherham Enterprise Project has been fantastic in helping me with business development to ensure another Rotherham firm goes far."

Jackie Frost of Rotherham Youth Enterprise, added: "The current economic climate means it is tougher than ever for start-up business to get ahead and for people to find employment. Claire's market is a hard nut to crack, but she has proved she has a sharp eye for enterprise and we are thrilled to have helped her with her journey into business."
