News: Beatson Clark supports Mayor's charity

By

Rotherham glass-packaging manufacturer, Beatson Clark has donated its 660ml Amber Vichy Beer bottle for the "Mayor's Charity", a flavoursome beer created by Mexborough's Imperial Brewery.

Cllr Shaun Wright was installed as the new Mayor of Rotherham earlier this month. The charities supported from this Mayor's Charity brew are Rotherham Macmillan Cancer Support, Rotherham Alzheimer's Society and R Children's Trust (a new local charity established to help Rotherham looked after children and care leavers).

Charlotte Taylor, marketing manager for Beatson Clark said: "It is a great pleasure to be part of such an occasion. The fact that the money raised by this brew is going to three local charities couldn't be more fitting and we are proud to be able to donate our Amber Beer bottles."

The newly inaugurated Mayor, joined by representatives from all three charities and the brewers of the charity beer, was invited to take a tour of Beatson Clark's extensive facilities on Greasborough Road.

The Mayor Cllr Shaun Wright said: "The beer is excellent and my sincere thanks go to local companies Beatson Clark and Imperial Brewery that have been involved to provide this product in aid of three local charities.

"In these difficult times it's the collaboration between different organisations that can really make the difference and help our borough to be a more vibrant and prosperous place. The "Mayor's Charity" will certainly ensure our continued support of those worthwhile organisations that work on behalf of, and help, many of our borough's residents."
