News: NAMTEC manufacturing forum launch

The National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) in Rotherham are launching the NAMTEC Manufacturing Forum this week, a consolidation of previous programmes - AEM Yorkshire and the Special Metals Forum.

The Manufacturing Forum will provide an unrivalled opportunity for members to explore new market and technology development opportunities in high growth sectors including Oil & Gas, Aerospace & Defence and Energy Generation.

Member services and benefits include business intelligence, supply chain information, facilitated attendance at exhibitions and support for international trade.

A launch event at the Cutlers' Hall, Sheffield takes place on July 21. As well as an introduction from Bill Spiers, Master Cutler, the event has attracted prestigious speakers from Sheffield Forgemasters and Westinghouse, a major player in the nuclear industry.

Dr Alan Partridge, Chief Executive of NAMTEC said: "The NAMTEC Manufacturing Forum will provide an invaluable contribution to the growth of the metals industry. The event provides a unique opportunity to hear first-hand of developments in civil nuclear and to network with peers and potential business partners to discuss new business."

Based at Swinden House, Moorgate, NAMTEC was established to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the metals and related engineering industries throughout the UK. They lead on delivering research and technology development, knowledge transfer, and training to companies in the engineering and manufacturing industries.
