News: AESSEAL win international trade award
With their global headquarters at Templeborough, AESSEAL specialise in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals, bearing protectors and environmental control systems.
The latest accolade is for the North East England, Yorkshire and Humber region of the awards that exclusively recognise the UK's leading importers and exporters who have, in the face of adversity given the challenges posed by the current global economic climate, excelled over the past year.
Phil Orford of the Forum of Private Business, assisted by Martin Hodges, head of trade with Santander Corporate Banking, Howard Barrie, partner at Eversheds, and David Solomons, senior partner at Creative Learning Consultants, selected AESSEAL from an exceptional list of applications.
Richard Cook, production and personnel director at AESSEAL, said: "Having witnessed the strength of the competition we are understandably delighted to have been named as regional winners.
"During the last decade our business has almost quadrupled in size, primarily due to our pursuit of excellence and an increasingly international presence. More fundamentally, it is the quality of our people that makes the difference and we are fortunate to have a highly capable and committed team, 75% of whom are based overseas."
Along with eight other regional finalists, AESSEAL will be invited to attend the UK final held at a prestigious London venue in Autumn 2011.
AESSEAL won the Queen's Award for Enterprise 2011 for international trade, recognising that over six years the company's overseas earnings have more than doubled and three-quarters of its output are now exported to its markets in more than 100 countries.
The company was also recently named in The Telegraph's list of "Britain's Brightest Businesses" - a celebration of the 1,000 mid-sized companies which have weathered the economic storm and are set to be the foundation of the UK's recovery.
