News: Duocall scores with Soccer City

By

Rotherham telecommunications company, Duocall has installed a state-of-the-art WiFi system into the bar of Huddersfield's Soccer City, successfully transforming the under-used facility into a bustling social hub.

The Templeborough company was contacted by Huddersfield's Soccer City to introduce a high-speed WiFi system capable of supporting high numbers of users during peak times without having an impact upon the speed of the connection.

The system developed by DuoCall has proved to be a particularly popular with the parents of children attending Soccer City's regular coaching sessions which takes place every Saturday morning and since the system went live a month ago, the company has recorded a dramatic rise in the numbers of visitors to the bar.

James Bradley, co-director at DuoCall Communications, said: "WiFi use has boomed in the last couple of years, with more and more businesses recognising that offering a free internet connection can not only help to attract visitors, but also encourage them to stay, relax, and unwind in the facilities.

"It was important for us to develop a system that provides a fast and robust interface, ensuring that even during times of high peak usage, users are able to access the web quickly."

Darren Gilbert, director at Soccer City, added: "After launching the service we quickly discovered that the biggest numbers of users are on Saturday mornings when parents choose to retreat to the comforts of the bar area while their children learn football skills.

"Until we introduced WiFi, many parents would simply drop off their children and come back later to pick them up. We are noticing that many more are choosing to visit the bar, have a coffee and catch up on their emails, as well as offering a chance for parents to meet with each other and is proving to be very popular!"

Based at the Magna 34 development, Duocall offer high quality landline, mobile, data products and services.
