News: Rotherham hosts Indian delegation

By

Representatives of the Indian company, Barry-Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR) visited Rotherham recently looking to engage with local companies in the manufacturing, engineering and industrial sectors.

In a visit hosted by Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber, the delegation visited numerous manufacturers from across the region and also met law firm Hill Dickinson.

BWIR are moving one of their offices to the UK to establish and develop a presence in the country which it is hoped will aid inward investment from India to the UK and vice versa.

The company can help aid companies in entering into the growing Indian market and provide technical support on product adjustments, strategic market entry methodologies and general support in how UK companies can find customers in India.

D. Senthil Kumar, vice-president and senior partner at Barry-Wehmiller International Resources, said: "We would like to thank Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber for hosting our company and introducing us to some key businesses in the region for whom we are also grateful for their time.

"Our company offers something that many other providers of outward investment advice can't provide - a wealth of personal knowledge and a specific understanding of the Indian market and how companies can make globalisation a real success. We can't wait to hear from companies who may want to have that conversation with us. Barnsley and Rotherham is the place to be to encourage, promote and deliver investment both in and out of the area, and through the Chamber we hope to do that."

Andrew Denniff, executive director of Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber, added: "It was a pleasure to host Barry-Wehmiller International Resources and show them that Barnsley, Rotherham and the City Region is the number one area for inward investment to take place.

"Through the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, BWIR are hopeful that they can attract new companies into the region and at the same time help manufacturers in our region move into the Indian market place."
