News: S3 ID director shortlisted for award

By

Derek Gennard, managing director of the S3 ID Group in Rotherham has been shortlisted at the Institute of Directors (IoD) Yorkshire Director of the Year Awards.

The Eastwood company is the UK's market-leading provider of innovative location awareness solutions.

With regional offices in Norway and Singapore, S3 ID has developed a range of specialist hardware and software products that provide real-time personnel location awareness, mustering and access control. They are used in working environments where a major incident would be catastrophic such as oil, gas and petrochemical plants.

The IoD is the UK's longest running organisation for professional leaders and the awards recognise directors that are the best in their field.

Mr Gennard (pictured above, right) is shortlisted in the SME category and will find out at a ceremony at the National Railway Museum, York next week if he will go through to the national awards.

Kenton Robbins, regional director at the IoD, said: "The IoD Yorkshire Director of the Year Awards celebrate the very best in the business. It continues to be a challenging time for businesses, which is why success and achievement need to be recognised and celebrated.

"Winning these awards demonstrate that you have been recognised as being at the top of your game by your peers and by the UK's premier business lobbying group."

In addition, S3 ID will find out this week if their innovative new eLock range has been successful in the ONS 2012 Innovator Awards.

The system is an electronically controlled door locking solution that is the first high security product to meet ATEX Zone 1 Hazardous Area requirements. It is designed to protect high risk areas from specialist high-security attacks.
