News: Kebabish Original opens in Rotherham town centre
Visitors to Rotherham town centre are now able to experience the "thrill of the grill" at the newly opened, Kebabish Original on Wellgate.
The chain has over 100 franchised shops in Britain and the latest flagship restaurant in the former Number 10 bar has a main restaurant, plus three special family semi-private areas holding a further 30 diners. It also incorporates a Coffee Republic operation and future plans include a fully refurbished banqueting suite which will host conferences, weddings and other events.
Rotherham businessman Manawar Hussain, owner of the Caprice clothing and furniture businesses, first met restaurateur Mohammed Hanif when the latter successfully set up the Kebabish Original franchise unit in Sheffield. On Mr Hussain's recommendation, Mr Hanif visited Rotherham and was pleasantly surprised by what he saw in the town centre. The pair discussed the possibilities and after much research and planning, transformed the run-down building into an exciting, family friendly themed restaurant.
The project has been supported by Rotherham Council having received a "one-off" Business Vitality Grant to assist with the establishment of the restaurant. The business will create at least ten jobs, whilst improving the area.
Councillor Gerald Smith, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Development, at Rotherham Council, said: "This is another example of our Grants scheme bringing a new and innovative business into the heart of the town centre.
"By bringing more variety into Rotherham we will continue to increase the numbers of people coming to the town centre, create more jobs and encourage even more businesses to choose Rotherham as their destination of choice when they are looking to expand their operations."
Among the unique ingredients which Kebabish Original possesses are a stunning flame grill which is central to the restaurant's design. The grill will prove the visual highlight to this new eating experience in Rotherham, where diners can see their meals cooked.
