News: New Rotherham restaurant on the way

By

The recent Government announcement could not have come at a better time as recruitment begins for a new restaurant in Rotherham.

Rothbiz revealed at the end of last year that a lease had been signed that would see a large empty retail unit converted into a restaurant and bar at Stag Roundabout.

Rancheros Brazilian Rodizio Restaurant is set to bring Brazilian and Latin cuisines to the area.

Rodízio is an all-you-can-eat style of restaurant service in Brazilian restaurants. Meat waiters, called passadors, offer up a selection of cooked meats, often on the skewer. In some restaurants, diners use a green and red card to indicate whether they want more food.

Signs are that the new Rotherham restaurant is from Doncaster-based restaurant entrepreneur, Masud Rana, owner of La Boca and La Rustica in Doncaster town centre, and the La Fiesta tapas restaurant in Armthorpe.

This month, the new venture began recruitment, starting with a head chef.

The job advert explains: "We are a brand new, soon to be opened, 140 seater Brazilian Rodizio Restaurant by the Stag Roundabout, Wickersley Road, Rotherham. The restaurant bar and reception area can hold up to 30 guests waiting to be seated.

"The restaurant kitchen is built on approximately an area of 1,000 sq m.

"Our guests will be served many different cuts of beef, lamb, duck, pork and chicken - all grilled on a churrasco grill which is then sliced and served at their table as many times as they request. There will be a large salad bar which guests will be encouraged to help themselves from, this can hold between 20 and 30 cold and hot dishes.

"Although we are a predominantly meat based restaurant we would like to offer an extensive Vegetarian and Vegan menu to appeal to a broader range of guests. We also want to consider our guests which may have medical dietary requirements and ensure that we cater with diversity and clarity.

"Our rodizio and salad menus will be offered at a transparent fixed price."

An opening date has not yet been confirmed.

Where is everyone going to park. We are lucky we can walk there

Why you so bothered when you can walk? Trouble causer... they’ve not even opened yet! Tut

Parking will be fun. The photo shows a full car park with empty units, imagine when it's open.

I remember years ago someone used to put a big sign in the back of a car explaining that you could not park on the road at the side of the bank.

Parking parking parking, what is it with people, we're supposed to be cutting back on private car use,... You know climate change and ice melting, is Rotherhams except for climate change! 🤔

This is going to be such a mess. There is already a restaurant next door that struggles with parking.

A restaurant can't survive on just local people who live nearby. Eventually they will get bored of it. Buisnesses like this need people from further afield and if there is nowhere to park, it will fail.

Lol parking parking parking, obsessed, same with forge island development, obsessed with parking even though, its next to railway station, tram stop, bus station and taxi rank, why need for private vehicles?

This is amazing for the local area and Rotherham. There is a bus stop directly outside the restaurant on a lot of main routes to Rotherham, Sheffield and surrounding areas. There is paid parking at the church across the road that I'm sure the restaurant would pay for. Come on people from Rotherham and beyond. No wonder Rotherham could offer more to it's people with the attitudes on here. Bring it on. Looking forward to the new restaurant. We'll be there

Thank you very much for your interests. There’s a Church right opposite our restaurant, which offers many parking. And it is completely free for our guests. All you have to do is take a picture of your parking ticket and show to your server. You bill will then be deducted.

We look forward to serving you this September.

Thank you.

Sounds like a great Restaurant idea I love Brazilian food washed down with a drink or 2

It's easy, get a lift and enjoy your evening.
As long as it's not Halal like most restaurants in Rotherham that serve it but don't advertise it then i will go.

This is good but what about us vegetarians we need restaurants too vlm

You must not drive past here or try to park recently. If you are worried about climate change, then maybe raise concern that it is a restaurant that is all about eat as much meat as you can, which has a bigger contribution to your carbon footprint.

There is also the two italian cafe/restaurants. Cars parks are full, parking on the footpaths, double yellow lines, and a bus stop next to the entrance.

Anonymous,  June 25, 2020 at 11:38 PM

Sounds good. We'll need a good drink by September.

The plans look good, with 2 entrances, the old carpet shop and next to the pet shop. Didn't realise it was going to be that spacious. rotherham.plan.co.uk/?id=RB2017/1806

Thanks for your contribution and information as a local I’m looking forward to visiting your new restaurant

Great idea to make use of the united reform church car park. There must be 50 spaces in there.

The proposed finishes look good, and like the alfresco area.

We need to get some good restaurants back in the town centre too.

Anonymous,  June 26, 2020 at 11:57 AM

Not very good for the residents who live close to the restaurant....noise , cooking fumes, etc

Mr me June 26, 2020 at 3:55 PM

There ain't half some self centered moaning buggers in Rotherham, that's probs why were a hole with nowt, always someone with an issue. Agree with comment need some nice restraunts in town centre, far too many takeaways dishing out unhealthy and probably unhygenic poor quality rubbish.

Anonymous,  June 26, 2020 at 10:39 PM

Well said dead in hole before opening for god sake give it a chance

Rancheros Restaurant,  June 27, 2020 at 2:57 PM

We are going to be a restaurant for all and focusing specially on vegetarian. We will have many vegetarian items on salad bar, fried fish in hot food area to help yourself as many times as you like and also a la cart menu for vegetarian.
So please be ensured that we will be a restaurant not only for meat lover but also vegetarians.

Thank you.

Rancheros Restaurant,  June 27, 2020 at 3:01 PM

Thank you for your message. We are very serious about making sure that we do not disturb any of our residents around and working with council to make sure our noise level is minimum and kitchen canopy set in a way that no fumes or sound goes to neighbouring area.
