News: In-tend appointed as ESPO framework contractor

Rotherham e-procurement specialists, In-tend has been appointed as a contractor on the new E-solutions framework by ESPO (Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation), one of the UK's largest public sector professional buying organisations.

A University of Sheffield subsidiary company managed by University procurement professionals since 2006, In-tend has recently expanded from RiDO's Moorgate Crofts business centre to new offices at Phoenix Riverside at Templeborough. The company's e-Procurement software portfolio is used by 300 organisations and 5,000 registered users managing in excess of £10 billion in contracts.

ESPO is a not-for-profit organisation that has created a public sector purchasing consortium offering a comprehensive procurement service to help customers acquire a wide range of products and services, whilst achieving cost savings and ensuring all purchases comply with current UK and EU procurement rules and regulations.

The new framework offers a host of In-tend eProcurement solutions including eTendering, eContract Management and eAuction and is available for use by organisations across the public sector.

A spokesperson for In-tend, said: "Known as ESPO contract 774, the framework is available for use by any local authority or public sector body in the UK. In-tend already offers its e-procurement solutions to a number of public sector organisations however being part of this Framework agreement will allow many others to receive the numerous benefits that we offer."

Established in 1981 to provide a comprehensive procurement service to the public sector, ESPO has the purchasing power to achieve savings to pass on to its customers. The value of ESPO's procurement activity in 2011/12 was more than £1 billion.
