News: Lifeskills gets good results

By

Learning and training provider, LifeSkills has impressed inspectors at a recent Ofsted visit and has been awarded a clean sweep of Grade 2 (Good) awards.

The national company specialises in providing opportunities for young people to break into the world of training and employment. Rotherham born managing director, Spencer Fearn, has developed the company over the last ten years in London and the South East and opened a Rotherham training centre in the town centre in 2010.

The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) is the official body for inspecting schools, colleges and learning and skills providers in England.

Lifeskills received "Good" in Teaching and Learning, Leadership and Management, Maths and English, Outcomes for Learners, Study Programme, Business and Retail. It was also recognised as giving "Outstanding" care and support, advice and guidance for learners.

Spencer Fearn, managing director of Lifeskills, said: "Since our inspection in 2012, we have made tremendous strides in improving the quality of our training delivery to meet the revised and more rigorous inspection framework. We have seen improvements across the board as a business and 95% of learners gave positive feedback to Ofsted on their experience at LifeSkills, which we are delighted with.

"The positive results from the inspection are testament to the wonderful staff we have working within LifeSkills, it clearly shows how committed we all are in aiming to give each learner who comes to our centres the best possible learning experience."
