News: South Korean visit to Rotherham a 'great success'

By

A visit to Rotherham by a delegation from South Korea to meet with leading businesses partners and explore regeneration projects has been hailed a 'great success'. The eleven-strong visiting party from Seocho City - a sub-centre of Seoul - spent four days in Rotherham from 21 to 25 April. Karl Battersby, Strategic Director for Environment and Development Services at Rotherham Borough Council, said: "Over the course of the visit, from a number of areas have emerged where there are common interests and opportunities for working together. "For example, Rotherham Borough Council and Seocho City are both currently investing in and developing more customer-centred approaches to service delivery. By forming good links with overseas cities and towns, there may be opportunities to compare approaches and share learning. "On the whole, the visit was great success and we look forward to strengthening our links with Seocho City and similar places." Whilst in Rotherham, the party visited major regeneration and economic development projects, such as the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre at Waverley and the Magna Science Adventure Centre.
