News: Top regeneration role for Paul

By

Paul Woodcock has been appointed to the key role of director of Planning & Regeneration for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. The new directorate fuses together two services, Rotherham Investment & Development Office and Planning & Transportation, to provide people and businesses a more cohesive service. RiDO continues within the new set-up as the council’s leading regeneration arm. Paul’s promotion to this high profile-post is testament to his past track record in towns such as Medway and also the role he has played in helping attract inward investment into Rotherham and raising the borough’s profile as a strong business location. Paul said: "It's a fantastic time to have been appointed to this position. Rotherham is going through an enormous period of change, with the Renaissance programme set to transform the town centre just as the old industrial areas have been transformed. "Rotherham's increasingly proving itself to be a centre for high-quality and high-tech businesses that in many cases are world leaders in their fields. "We recognise the challenges ahead but are confident that the council's partnership approach and strong relationships with the private sector, together with our ambitious plans, will allow us to build on our continually growing reputation. This is a message of hope not just for companies but for the people of the borough."
