News: Iliad completes refurb of Rotherham landmark

By

Developer Iliad has announced the completion of the £3,750,000 refurbishment of the Imperial Buildings - part of the ambitious All Saints’ Quarter in Rotherham town centre. The magnificent Edwardian, Grade II listed buildings includes period glass shop frontages and internal galleries that complement the conservation area setting next to Rotherham Minster. Designed by architects Glen Howells, the refurbishment has created nearly 9,000 sq ft of retail space and 19 residential apartments. Bill Addy, Development Director for Iliad said: "The completion of the Imperial Buildings represents another major milestone in the regeneration of Rotherham. We expect the high quality mix of space within Imperial to significantly enhance the retail and residential offer that is currently available in Rotherham’s town centre." A key part of Rotherham Renaissance, the All Saints’ Quarter will provide 154 new apartments and 126,000 sq ft of mixed commercial, retail, leisure and office accommodation. Subject to planning permission work will commence on All Saints’ building and Turnpike Wharf early in 2009.
