By

The team behind Rotherham based enterprise, Slap Holds, have been named as runners-up in the Rotherham Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2008. Lucy Teagle’s company Slap Holds manufactures climbing holds for indoor climbing walls. The 30-year-old former journalist, works in partnership with her husband Dylan Fletcher after moving to the area because it boasts the largest climbing community in the country. Dylan, who accepted a runners -up £250 cheque on behalf of Lucy said: "We’re right on the edge of the Peak District here, so we knew we had to be based in South Yorkshire to be at the heart of the climbing community. "We are the only European company manufacturing the holds from polyurethane - most are made from polyester resin which is easily broken." The couple have supplied their products to schools including Winterhill School in Rotherham.
