By

Following on from success at the recent Rotherham Business Awards, glass and frame repairer Solaglas Windowcare has come away with wins in three categories of the 2008 British Glass Charter Awards. Underlined its commitment to health and safety, the Rotherham-based company picked up awards in three of the 12 categories. These included Best Safety Initiative for a programme led by transport supervisor Sharron Pearce that monitors the safety performance of the company’s 150 engineers and seeks to promote safer practices. National Customer Service Compliance Manager Phil Langham received the safety representative of the year award, and for the second year running, the company was named best safety performer in the over 250 employees’ category. Ian Davy, managing director said: "We are delighted to be recognised by the industry for our achievements in taking health and safety within our business to a new level. The nature of our business means achieving the highest levels of health and safety practice is paramount. To this end we have introduced initiatives that reinforce our position of leadership and innovation in this sector."
