News: u-xplore launch new enterprise section
Also celebrating this year’s Enterprise Week is Rotherham educational media company, u-xplore, as they launch of a new enterprise section which will run throughout the latest version of its interactive website, u-xplore interactive. The unique enterprise strand developed by u-xplore in line with Ofsted’s call for schools to improve enterprise education, uses cutting edge media to bring real life situations in to the classroom with actual entrepreneurs presenting students with the real challenges facing their business ventures. The software enables students to work on providing solutions to actual business challenges whilst being tutored by the entrepreneur in person. The site also offers online enterprise workbooks and video case study interviews with real entrepreneurs, including Make Your Mark Ambassadors, who explain how they set up their businesses and the way they use enterprise skills in their work. Andy Pickles, CEO of u-xplore, said: "Fostering an understanding of enterprise and the skills needed to develop it, must be embraced by schools, but many are struggling to know how they can deliver this. "Working closely with Make Your Mark, we have further developed u-xplore interactive to address this problem. As well as offering enterprise lesson plans, a host of challenges and an on-line enterprise magazine, the site includes interviews with real entrepreneurs who explain the skills they have used to solve real challenges. This latest initiative supports our overall aim of bridging the gap between students and the world of work." Already, u-xplore interactive is available to more than 100,000 students in secondary schools across South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Hull and Ayrshire. In addition the company also has plans to roll out the programme nationally to offer support to schools and young people throughout the UK.
