A new company from the AMP's Innovation Technology Centre will offer manufacturers and operators of off-shore wind turbines, aircraft power units, valves and pumps the opportunity to enjoy longer periods of trouble-free operation, thanks to their new technologies under development. Polymer Techniques Limited has been recently formed to provide solutions to "boundary pushing" industries where progress has been restricted by the current offerings of regular elastomer material offerings. Progressive sectors like semi-conductor, photo voltaic, aerospace, wind and nuclear energy can look forward to increased "Uptime" when Polymer Techniques brings its ground breaking products to market next summer. Paul Short said: "We are pioneering solutions for technology sectors that appreciate the value of increased "Uptime". We were looking for a location where we could develop, test and then bring to market our bespoke products and at the ITC and AMP we found all our needs were well catered for. Working amongst like minded solution providing businesses creates a "think tank" environment where ideas can be bounced around and shared." Jim Farmery, Assistant Director of Business at Yorkshire Forward added: "We are pleased that Polymer Techniques has chosen the AMP as a base for their company. The technologies and subsequent products under development will bring significant benefit to a number of industries, and will rank alongside the other world-class technologies being developed at the AMP."
