Rotherham company, Inditherm has been named as one of only four sustainability champions by British Precast. The awards are for British Precast associate members who have developed projects that reduce their industrial impact on the environment and the communities we live in, while enabling their precast manufacturing customers to become more sustainable. Inditherm's "accelerated concrete curing technology" uses the flexible carbon polymer technology they developed and patented to create uniform heating over a large surface area. Precast concrete manufacturing process can benefit from this technology through faster curing times, reduced cement and additive content, and reduced energy costs due to the low voltage and low power consumption required. Inditherm's energy efficient polymer technology is also used in heating mattresses, pipework, sports pitches, storage vessels and medical treatments. As well as being used in precast production, Inditherm's insulated heated blankets can be used on site and were recently used in the construction of Heathrow Terminal 5. Martin Clarke, Chief Executive of British Precast, said: "Our associate members are playing a vital role in helping the precast industry achieve its sustainability goals and we hope to see many further advances in the next few years."
