News: Horbury Group enjoys more public sector success
The Horbury Group has broken the £30m barrier for public sector construction contracts by securing new deals worth £2.6m.
The projects will see the Rotherham-based specialists working on state-of-the-art new schools in York and Whitley Bay.
Horbury Building Systems has been appointed to conduct a range of work on the projects including partitioning, plastering and installing acoustic baffles at the £28m Joseph Rowntree School in York and the £20m Monkseaton High School in Whitley Bay.
The Horbury Group's MWS Joinery will lend its expertise in external larch cladding, ballustrading and folding partitions in York whilst another Horbury Group subsidiary, Titan Ceilings, has also been contracted to install raised access floors to the development, in addition to suspended ceilings at both schools.
Trevor Wragg, managing director of the Horbury Group, said: "Horbury Group has experienced prior success in securing and delivering major projects for public sector clients, and we will continue to pursue increasingly complex contracts as the government looks to build more schools and hospitals.
"Winning contracts such as these demonstrates just how much we are continuing to grow as a company on a national level."
It is the second time in recent months that the group has secured major contracts, following the appointment of Horbury Building Systems and MWS Joinery to work on the new Heslington East campus at the University of York.
