News: BG Controls helps create a natural environment for entrepreneurs in Rotherham
Leading building controls expert BG Controls is helping the Fusion @ Magna Business Centre in Rotherham to utilise natural energy sources through it's intelligent ventilation system.
The £4.5m centre boasts many green technologies including protective green foliage around the external walls, sedum roof to the workshops and natural ventilation.
BG Controls of Dinnington in Rotherham designed, manufactured and installed a natural ventilation solution for Fusion including sensors monitoring the internal temperature and CO2 levels enabling a comfortable working environment.
With the "living walls" in place the building is protected from the heat of the sun thus lessening the need for air-conditioning with the help of the natural ventilation system.
Based on the former site of Templeborough Rolling Mill steel works, the 2500 sq m centre houses 18 workshops and 29 offices for new start-up businesses.
One of four centres operated by Rotherham Investment & Development Office (RIDO) – the Borough Council's regeneration arm, Fusion was officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal earlier this month.
Bob Taylor, Project Manager for the RIDO Development Team. "The Fusion@Magna project is all about renewable energy sources and the natural ventilation system is energy efficient, cost effective and replaces the need for air-conditioning.
"BG Controls understood exactly what we wanted to achieve and their dedication, experience and knowledge helped them to deliver the perfect solution."
