News: Newest fashion boutique already expanding in Rotherham town centre

Boo, the women's fashion boutique that opened in Rotherham town centre in February, has proven overwhelmingly successful and is expanding in order to cater for the fashion conscious male.

Currently fitting out a unit next door to Boo in Imperial Building's, the new men's fashion store, Boi, joins The Jeweller's Exchange, ROAR's Arts Hub and women's clothing and accessories boutique, Yella Brick Road.

Boi, like its sister retail outlet Boo, has opened in the centre with help from Rotherham Borough Council’s business vitality rental and fit-out grants.

Owner of Boo and Boi, Michelle Black, said: "I'm so thrilled I'm expanding into men's wear its better than what I could have ever hoped for when starting out with Boo.

"I never imagined Boo would do so well in the first few months to warrant the expansion into a second unit. I know there's a market for the ladies' fashion we sell and I'm equally as confident that male shoppers will be thrilled with the lines we have on offer in Boi."

Expect to see a wide range of high-quality men's fashion clothing including designer range Desigual, alongside a range of men's shoes and accessories.

The council's Retail Investment Manager Bernadette Rushton said: "It's looking very positive for Imperial Buildings and indeed for the town centre at the moment.

"We are steadily receiving grant applications and by working hard with Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and Rotherham Council's own Business Coaches, these are coming to fruition with shops fitting out, trading and then, as resulting success, expanding.

"With an improved shopping offer, a substantial events programme, free all day Saturday parking and increased planting we hope that residents are seeing a real benefit to shopping locally."

Boi opens this Saturday May 29 and there will be 10% off everything on the opening day.
