News: Macalloy at the palace
Proud representatives of Rotherham construction experts, Macalloy, attended a reception at Buckingham Palace last month to honour their status as winners of The Queen's Award for Enterprise.
Managing director, Peter Hoy and sales director, Chris Willett were congratulated by Her Majesty The Queen on winning the award for international trade.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious Awards for business success and Macalloy were one of 95 companies to win the award for international trade this year.
Joanna Hill, head of the Queen's Awards Office, said: "These awards are not given lightly - all the Yorkshire and Humber winners have shown they are amongst the very best in their own industry, and country as a whole.
"This is a fantastic accolade that underlines the essential role of enterprise and business in our economy. I warmly congratulate all the winners for this recognition and I wish them the very best for the future."
Over six years the company's export earnings have increased by 124% from its markets in 58 countries worldwide.
Macalloy systems support impressive projects including the Viaduc du Millau in Southern France, the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai and close to home, Clifton Park in Rotherham.
They have also been used in Johannesburg's Soccer City Stadium, the centrepiece to the FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the venue for the final.
Macalloy can now display The Queen's Award emblem on all their branding and company literature to set them apart from the rest.
They join other successful Rotherham companies including AESSEAL and Huthwaite International as recipients of the prestigious award. Jackie Frost, Enterprise Projects Manager at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and RiDO's Business Centre Manager, Amanda Parris have both previously earned the individual Queen's Award for Enterprise promotion.
