News: Martek Marine in 3D

By

The launch of Martek Marine's latest product at the Shipbuilding, Machinery and Maritime Technology International Fair (SMM) in Hamburg was given an added dimension by FusedWorks of Doncaster.

Martek is the world leader in safety and environmental monitoring equipment for commercial ships and launched Navguard, a bridge navigation watch and alarm system (BNWAS) at the world's leading global maritime industry trade fair in September.

FusedWorks was commissioned to create an interactive 3D model of an oil tanker that could be used to showcase Martek's products and during the show the sales team demonstrated their new system to customers on a 40" screen for maximum impact.

Steve Coulson, marketing director at Martek Marine said: "Being able to show Navgard in situ on the virtual oil tanker is fantastic. Not only can customers interact and understand the product for a more informed choice but its technical installation can also be demonstrated.

"This is the most cost effective way we could get these results without using a real oil tanker."

Navgard is the first of several products that will be included on the 3D model. The final application will be available on the Martek Marine website and also as a stand alone application to support the sales and technical teams.
