News: Elevation Recruitment see growing workforces

By

Local businesses in the accountancy and finance sector are looking to expand their workforces as a freeze on recruitment begins to thaw, according to Elevation Recruitment.

The Rotherham recruitment specialist reports a 50 per cent increase in companies hiring temporary staff compared to the same time last year.

The boost is supported by The Recruitment and Employment Confederation outlook for June, which reports that confidence among employers has grown with a long-term view to create temporary staff into a permanent workforce over the next 12 months.

Greg Parkinson, managing director at Elevation Recruitment, said: "Through our clients it is clear to see a return to a more optimistic outlook over the next year, which is reflected by a lift in recruitment freezes as companies re-staff to cope with extra workloads.

"Despite an increase in confidence, it is not as stable as it was pre-recession, so we have seen the temporary jobs market booming, with employers looking to expand their recruitment initially through temporary contracts, with a view to establishing a more permanent workforce over the next year.

"The boost to temporary contracts isn't confined to a particular size of business, with increased demand across the board for both SMEs and PLCs in the Sheffield, Doncaster and Worksop areas."

Part of the Horbury Group, Elevation Recruitment operates in six specialist sectors; Accountancy, Senior Finance Professional Practice, Financial Services, Sales and HR, covering South Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire regions.
