Supplied by Rotheham-based EMSc UK Ltd, The Powerstar system is the only voltage optimisation system wholly designed and manufactured in the UK and works by reducing the the voltage supplied by the National Grid.

The system will help Swann-Morton achieve energy savings of 9.9% – or £11,559 – per annum while also reducing its CO2 emissions by 102.5 tonnes. The award-wining solution was selected as part of an initiative to support British entrepreneurship and manufacturing, and in line with Swann-Morton’s aims of reducing the environmental impact associated with the products and materials purchased and used by the group.

Dr Alex Mardapittas, managing director at EMSc (UK) Ltd and designer of Powerstar, said: "The Swann-Morton Group is committed to conducting its business activities in a way that minimises the impacts on the natural and human environment and we are proud to have been selected as the energy saving solutions provider of choice."
