News: Business club kicks off at New York Stadium
The Rotherham United Business Club held their first meeting at the New York Stadium recently.
The event incorporated a full breakfast, networking sessions and a tour of the facilities of the stadium, taking in the changing rooms, player's tunnel, dugouts and a lap of the pitch.
The Millers returned to their home town in July, to the £20m, 12,000 seater stadium on the site of the former Guest & Chrimes foundry close to Rotherham town centre.
The event took place in the executive lounge overlooking the pitch, just one part of the flexible state-of-the-art facilities that cater for matchday hospitality and can provide corporate and exhibition space for a total of 600 capacity over two floors.
The recently launched business club is one way that the League Two club is ensuring that the whole of the community can get involved at this exciting time for the club and the borough.
Mark Hannigan, who organised the Rotherham United Business Club event, said: "Our first meeting at the New York Stadium was fantastic and we got a sense of what it must have been like for the first team when they came here to play their first game.
"A big thank you to everyone who attended, and to the club for letting us get an exclusive look around the inspiring new stadium."
As well as the networking on the last Thursday of every month, members will also be given space on the business club page in all home match day programmes and the Millers official website. There is also the chance to utilise players (subject to availability) for promotional work.
