News: Rotherham dance crew triumph in Italy

Staff at Parkgate Shopping in Rotherham were dancing in the aisles last month after a crew from the local dance studio that they sponsor became Hip Hop Dance Champions after winning the European Dance Grand Prix in Italy. SD Crew is formed from selected members of Studio Dance, a non-profit making community group in Dinnington that teaches and performs styles of Hip-Hop for people who love to dance. It offers classes for children, teenagers and adults in Street and Break Dance, Cheer Dance, Gymnastics and Salsa. In addition to competing around the world, SD is also very active in the local community. Parkgate Shopping is delighted to be sponsoring such a worthy local organisation, as Operations Manager, Billy Smith explains: “We were impressed not only by the quality of what they do, but with their commitment to engage so many people of all ages in such an enjoyable and rewarding activity. “Visitors to the Park will be seeing a lot of them over the next few months at charity events and fashion shows.” And SD Crew will be proudly sporting Parkgate Shopping costumes as they represent the UK this August at the World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas, alongside 1000 of the world’s top street dancers from 30 countries.
