News: Martek makes forward step to new developments

Rotherham based Martek Marine have announced that a grant has been awarded to help finance the further development and expansion of the business in the next two years. The grant, via the Selective Finance for Investment (SFI) programme was awarded by Yorkshire Forward to enable the business to invest in a world class ERP (Enterprise Response Planning) system and in expanding its business premises. Martek’s vision of becoming the world leader for emissions monitoring, gas and water detection systems was identified as a major indication of the business' ambition and as a result Yorkshire Forward felt that the company would benefit from a grant to enable the expansion and development to move forward. Financial Director Neil Preston said: "We are very appreciative of the help given to us by Yorkshire Forward in receiving this grant and are pleased they recognise and support the continued growth of the world leading, high value manufacturing that Martek provides for the region. The new system and the factory expansion will enable Martek to capitalise on the fantastic market opportunities now available following a significant investment by the company in developing our world leading products."
