First, South Yorkshire's leading bus company, are offering their support to Rotherham's Real Ale Festival. The festival now in its 17th year is the second largest public event in Rotherham with around 10,000 visitors sampling a selection of real ales, ciders, beers and wines over the course of the event which opens to the public on Friday 20th February at 6pm. First are offering free travel from anywhere in South Yorkshire with an advance ticket. Brandon Jones, deputy managing director for First, said: "We are delighted to be supporting the Oakwood festival again this year, particularly in these tricky economic times when similar events around the UK are facing sponsors pulling out or limiting their spend. Its certainly become a regular feature in our calendar and a great local event for us to be involved in, especially for our off duty staff who enjoy mixing with our regular customers." Jim Charters Festival Organiser said; "I am happy that we can go ahead with our event this year, and this is helped by the kind generosity of First, who are always very supportive with this key Rotherham event year in and year out. The fact that our visitors can travel to and from the event and enjoy the fabulous selection of drinks on offer without the need to elect a designated driver is a real bonus." Tickets are £7.50 and available at Rotherham Visitor Centre.
