News: Rotherham construction specialist clinches major University contracts
Rotherham-based construction specialist The Horbury Group has secured new contracts at three leading UK universities worth £8.5m to add to its growing educational portfolio.
Subsidiaries, Horbury Building Systems (HBS) and MWS Joinery, have been appointed to work on campus accommodation expansions in Leeds, York and Birmingham.
The projects, which are being developed at Leeds' Metropolitan University's Carnegie Village, York's Goodricke College and Birmingham's Aston University sites, will house over 4000 students between them.
Trevor Wragg, managing director of The Horbury Group, said: "These developments are massive regeneration projects for the cities in question as they will draw more students and visitors to the areas.
"It is testament to the expertise within our group that we have clinched these contracts and continue to be involved in crucial development projects on a national scale."
In Leeds, the construction specialist has started work on luxury town houses, studio and cluster flats to house the city's students at the Headingley Campus.
The new Goodricke College at the University of York project will provide accommodation for over 600 students and several learning departments. The development, will be situated on the new £500m Heslington East campus in the city.
