News: Nikken Kosakusho Europe invests in Rotherham HQ

By

Tooling supplier Nikken Kosakusho Europe has invested in its Rotherham headquarters by installing a new, high-performance vertical machining centre.

The machine, a DNM 500, installed in Nikken's state-of-the-art "Technical Centre" in June 2009, is being used to help promote, via practical demonstrations, a wide range of the company's advanced technology products and equipment to UK and European customers and prospects, and representatives from Nikken's European overseas operations and distributor networks.

Nikken enjoys a global dominance of the rotary table technology market and the DNM 500 machine will be used to promote the significant productivity benefits that manufacturers can gain from embracing 4- and 5-axis machining using Nikken's rotary tables.

Targeted manufacturers include those operating in the aerospace, defence, motorsport, automotive and medical sectors, as well as customers looking for the most productive and most effective ways to machine aluminium, steels, stainless, titanium and exotics.

Tony Bowkett, group managing director at Nikken Kosakusho Europe said: "We have invested considerable resources over the last few months in re-vamping our showroom and training facilities here in the UK.

"With the installation of the DNM 500 we now have a new machine tool that not only does the business - it also looks the part."

The machine was supplied by Mills CNC, the UK's fastest-growing machine tool company and the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tool technology into the UK and Ireland.

Nikken Kosakusho Europe is a subsidiary of Nikken Works Limited Japan and their headquarters on the Barbot Hall Industrial Estate opened in 1999.
