News: South Yorkshire Green Business Club in Rotherham

The South Yorkshire Green Business Club his hosting a breakfast briefing in Rotherham to help local businesses understand the who, what, why and how of environmental management systems.

To be held at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre on October 30, the event aims to help businesses understand the impacts on the environment and avoid added costs, breaaching legislation and damaging reputation.

Environmental Management Systems (EMS) demonstrates an appreciation and willingness to address, measure and monitor these impacts. An EMS uses the same mechanisms as quality control or health and safety but manages your environmental impacts.

Speakers will also discuss issues such as why an EMS is becoming a key feature in procurement both in the public and private sector and how an EMS system can add marketing value.
