News: Elevation Recruitment celebrate first anniversary

The head of Rotherham recruitment group, Elevation Recruitment says the experience of setting up a business in the midst of a recession has proved to be an opportunity to enter a fragmented market and deliver a fresh approach.

Greg Parkinson, and business partner Matt Linley, set up Elevation Recruitment one year ago in January 2010 at the height of the recession.

The company has rapidly established itself at the forefront of recruitment within the region experiencing success with business levels and revenues increasing dramatically month on month – even towards the turn of the year which is traditionally a quiet time for the industry.

The business is now assisting more than 2,000 clients across Yorkshire and the East Midlands to find the right job - with every client transaction underlined by the core value of quality service.

And after reporting a 33 percent increase in job vacancies in accountancy and financial services in 2010, the company has just taken on its eleventh employee.

Greg said: "Whilst setting up a recruitment business in the midst of a recession may not seem an obvious move we have defied expectations by not only surviving but expanding. It really has gone from strength to strength. It's been a great first year.

"Creating Elevation has been a huge undertaking and has necessitated extremely long hours and giving up weekends and evenings to develop ideas, relationships and market presence, but the success we have achieved has been breathtaking in such a short space of time.

"Of course all of this growth, whilst fantastic, needs to be maintained and we have put a great deal of planning into ensuring we continue to build and develop."

Elevation, which is part of the Rotherham-headquartered Horbury Group, has successfully launched six new brands into a crowded recruitment market covering accountancy and finance, executives, professional practice, sales, financial services and construction.

Within each market Elevation has won prestigious preferred supplier status beating off competitors including national and international recruitment firms.
