News: New shirt sponsor for Rotherham United
Rotherham United has signed a deal with the Rotherham Partnership that will see the widely recognised "One Town, One Community" message on the front of the club's away shirts next season.
The partnership is an organisation that brings together Rotherham's public, private, voluntary and community sector organisations to work together to improve Rotherham. The "One Town, One Community" initiative is about bringing people together to share a tolerant, united and prosperous Rotherham, for the benefit of everyone.
Steve Coakley, Rotherham United Commercial Director said: "There is so much fantastic, innovative work that goes into social cohesion throughout the Borough that we should be very, very proud.
"It was the perfect opportunity to promote this when we visit the numerous towns and cities across the country throughout the season. Both the team and supporters can wear our away shirts with immense pride in displaying the "One Town, One Community" logo and all the hard work that sits beneath that."
Cllr Mahroof Hussain, Cabinet Member for Community Development, Engagement and Young People's issues, added: "Football is at the heart of the community. The club and the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust do so much good work in the local area and by extending our support they will be able to further enhance their activities in our community."
Brian Chapple, Community Director for Rotherham United and Chairman of the Rotherham Partnership, said: "This is a very positive move and one which will have an impact not only on the club but also the wider community.
"We are pleased to be strengthening the link between the club and the Partnership and by doing so, it is expected this will help to enhance community cohesion, build relationships and extend the message of One Town One Community here in Rotherham."
Last month Rotherham United announced a new four-year deal for genesissports to supply new Puma kits to the club from next season.
