News: More members join the 1925 Club

By

Lifelong Rotherham United supporters in the local business community are taking advantage of the exclusive corporate hospitality on offer from next season at the New York Stadium.

Julian Smith, managing director at manufacturing firm Alpha Punch & Machinery Ltd, is the latest to sign up to the Millers' new 1925 Club, which will provide luxury treatment for members on match days.

Julian, whose company, based in Denaby Main, Doncaster, manufactures punches and dies for the steel fabrication industry, said: "I have been a Rotherham United supporter for more than 30 years so I am naturally very excited to be joining the 1925 Club.

"It is great value for money and provides me with the opportunity to watch the Millers in a state-of-the-art environment at the New York Stadium, which will be the envy of many fans across the football league.

"I will be using my tickets with family and friends and I expect there will be fierce competition between them – they will have to be very nice to me!"

The £20m, 12,000 seater stadium is nearing completion on the site of the former Guest & Chrimes foundry close to Rotherham town centre.

The Millers played their last home game at the Don Valley Stadium over the weekend after being in Sheffield since 2008. They will return to Rotherham in time for the 2012/13 season and the 1925 Club has been described as one of the most impressive elements of the New York Stadium by Rotherham chairman Tony Stewart.

Members of the three-tier package will not only be able to watch the match from the best seats in the house, but will also enjoy lounge, bar and restaurant facilities and VIP parking.

The Millers believe that the 1925 Club will be the best networking environment for local business people, and provide them with a place to develop new relationships and make new contacts.

Julian added: "As a businessman, I am really impressed by the New York Stadium and what it offers to the town of Rotherham both on and off the pitch."
