News: Millers score new contracts

By

Rotherham United has extended its deal with PUMA to ensure that the sportswear brand remains as the club's official kit supplier in a new long term agreement.

The Millers will continue to wear PUMA Technical Kit and Training Wear, having been with the brand since the club's final season at Don Valley Stadium in 2011/12.

Steve Coakley, commercial director at Rotherham United (pictured, top left), said: "The working relationship has gone from strength the strength since we signed the deal with Puma five years ago,” he told www.themillers.co.uk. "That upward trend has been mirrored within the performance of our retail operation and they've proven to be a fabulous partner. I look forward to maintaining the fantastic relationship we have with everyone at PUMA into the future."

Ruth How, Head of UK Marketing at PUMA, added: "We're delighted to be able to continue to work alongside Steve and the team at Rotherham United. We are proud of our association with Rotherham United and we have always enjoyed a fantastic working understanding with everyone at the Club.

"Looking ahead I am sure the relationship will be equally as successful and we are proud to once again be supplying the Millers with their kit for the coming seasons."

The relationship between Rotherham United and PUMA will continue to be managed by Genesis Sports.

The Championship club has also extended its deal with local firm, Eric Twigg Foods, which will see the long standing club partner's name remain over West Stand at AESSEAL New York Stadium until the end of 2019/2020 campaign.

On this deal, Steve Coakley said: "Eric Twigg Foods are a company that has become synonymous with the club, and we are proud that we will be celebrating 40 years of working together - that really is quite something and should be celebrated by everyone that has contributed to the success of that over the years, none more so than Eric and Matthew themselves.

"They were the first business to commit their name here at AESSEAL New York Stadium, and we are thrilled that they have chosen to further extend their association with the club.

"Eric Twigg Foods now enjoy a strong association within the football industry, and they remain as popular now with our supporters as they did in the early days back in the 1980s.

"I have personally enjoyed working with both Eric and Matt over a number of years, and it is a friendship that continues to go from strength-to-strength."
Matthew Twigg, managing director of Eric Twigg Foods (pictured, above left), added: "We have enjoyed a long and successful association with Rotherham United, a football club we have supported both commercially and as fans on the terraces.

"We would like to thank our fellow supporters for embracing our business as well as the Pukka Pie products over the decades. We are looking forward to many more enjoyable years working with, and supporting, Rotherham United."
